"But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ." Ephesians 4:15
Becoming like Christ (what we are by design meant to be) requires truth and love in our lives. We often hear about the love of God. It is the greatest gift we can receive from God. But we cannot fully receive this gift if we are not willing to confront our own truth.
"[Charity/Love] rejoiceth in the truth." 1 Corinthians 13:6
Several years ago I felt the Spirit tell me to pray for judgment. Not for my final judgment, but judgements, or my own truth revealed. I did so. Some time later I received my judgments. I was told what I needed to do to be better.
It hurt terribly.
I could have been offended with God, or angry. I could have turned my back on Him. For most of us, receiving judgment it is very painful. When we pray for judgments, we must be ready to be hurt. Then we must be ready to act.
"Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness..." Zephaniah 2:3
We must wrought His judgments into our lives. We must learn to live His truth. That is when we grow.
So here we have the interconnectedness of three things. Love, truth, and life. These three are eternal, and exist together. Life cannot be without love. Life cannot be without truth.
Knowing this, we must pray for judgements. We must eagerly pray for our own truth. Then be ready for when we receive it.
